Camp logistics
Arrival & drop-off
-
Our main camp day starts at 9.00am.
Drop-off is available from 8.30am, and children can arrive anytime between 8.30am and 8.50am so we can get everyone settled before the day begins.
If you need an earlier drop-off, you can book Breakfast Club, which runs from 7.45am and costs an additional £5 per day.
-
Drop-off arrangements vary slightly by location, but all of our camps have a clear reception point where children are greeted, signed in, and taken through to their group by our team.
Specific drop-off details for each camp are provided on the camp details page.
If you’re unsure on the day or can’t find the information you need, a member of our team will be on hand to help.

If you’re running late, the best thing to do is call us on 03330 067413.
You’ll be put through to a member of our on-site team, who can let the group leaders know and advise you on where to drop your child. Once the camp day has started, drop-off arrangements may be slightly different, so it’s always best to check in first.
-
Yes, that’s absolutely fine.
If someone else will be dropping your child off, please let us know in advance via the contact form. If plans change on the day, just give us a call 0n 03330 067413 to let us know.
Pick up

The main camp day finishes at 3.30pm.
If you need a later pick-up, you can book After Club, which runs until 6.00pm and costs an additional £12 per day.
-
Pick-up arrangements are the same as drop-off and may vary slightly by location.
All collections take place from the camp’s designated reception point, where children are signed out and handed back to their parent or carer.
Specific pick-up details for each camp are provided on the camp details page.
-
If you’re running late, please call us on 03330 067413 as soon as you can.
We’re flexible and understand that things happen. There will always be staff on site to look after your child, as our After Club runs until 6.00pm.
However, if pick-up is after 4.00pm, we reserve the right to charge for After Club for that day.
If you’re unsure or delayed, it’s always best to give us a call so we can advise on the best next steps.

During the day
-
Each day at Global Camps follows a clear, familiar structure that helps children feel settled and confident, while still allowing plenty of variety and fun.
Mornings are made up of three core activity sessions:
A language session
A sports activity
An arts and crafts session
There’s a mid-morning break with time to eat a snack and enjoy free play.
After lunch, children have some downtime and free play, followed by an afternoon session. Afternoon activities vary from day to day and may include games, outdoor activities, team challenges, or seasonal projects, depending on the time of year, the weather, and the group.
While the day is structured, it isn’t rigid or school-like. We find that a consistent daily format is reassuring for children, particularly those used to a school routine, and it helps everyone know what to expect. Within that framework, activities are adapted to suit the group’s energy, interests, and needs.
No two days are exactly the same, but the rhythm of the day stays familiar and supportive.
-
Children are generally kept in the same group throughout the day, with familiar group leaders supporting them across activities.
For some activities - depending on numbers or the activity itself - two groups may be brought together. Break times and lunchtime also give children the opportunity to mix more freely with others.
This approach gives children the security of a consistent group, while still allowing for socialising and variety across the day.
-
During the day, children usually stay with the same group and group leaders, with only occasional joining of groups for certain activities or at break times.
Across the week, we aim to keep children in the group they were booked into for the majority of the time. In most cases, this will be consistent throughout the week.
Occasionally, groupings may vary, for example:
If we feel a child would benefit from a different group set-up
If a group is particularly large on a given day and we split it to improve the experience
If numbers are lower on a particular day and we choose to bring groups together
Wherever possible, we prioritise consistency and familiarity, as we know this helps children feel settled and confident.
-
We take children’s emotional wellbeing seriously and always work in a child-centred, supportive way.
If a child is feeling upset or anxious, their group leaders will take time to reassure and comfort them, helping them to feel safe and settled. Our team is experienced in supporting children through big feelings, and many of our staff work in education or childcare settings outside of camp.
Our Camp Manager is not allocated to a group, which means we have additional capacity to support children who need extra reassurance. Where appropriate, this might include some quiet time or one-to-one support to help a child regulate and rejoin the group when they’re ready.
We know that most wobbles pass quickly, and we always aim to support children in a calm, caring way so they can get back to enjoying their day.
-
If your child needs regular or prescribed medication, this must be declared when you book and recorded on the system, along with clear instructions for administering it.
Medication must be:
Clearly labelled with your child’s name
Accompanied by written instructions
Handed directly to the Camp Manager at drop-off
All medication is stored securely and, where required, kept refrigerated.
If your child becomes unwell and would normally need medication such as Calpol or paracetamol, we ask that you use the same judgement you would on a school day. Children who are unwell should not attend camp, as we want to keep everyone safe and well.
If you’re unsure whether your child should attend, or need to discuss medication requirements in advance, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.
-
If a child has an accident or feels unwell during the day, they’ll be looked after by a member of our team straight away.
All camps are supported by staff who are trained in first aid, and any accidents are dealt with appropriately and recorded in line with our policies. Minor injuries are treated on site, and parents will be informed at pick-up or contacted sooner if needed.
If a child becomes unwell during the day, we’ll make them comfortable and keep a close eye on them. Where appropriate, parents will be contacted to discuss next steps or to arrange collection.
In the case of a more serious accident or illness, parents or carers will be contacted immediately.
Our priority is always the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care.
Food, breaks & toilets
-
Yes, children should bring a packed lunch each day, along with a healthy snack for morning break.
Please note that Global Camps is a nut- and sesame-free environment, so we ask that packed lunches and snacks do not contain nuts or sesame products.
-
No, children should bring their own snack for morning break, as well as a packed lunch.
If your child is attending Breakfast Club or After Club, snacks are provided as part of our wraparound care.
-
We take allergies and dietary needs seriously.
Global Camps is a nut and sesame-free environment, and children are not permitted to share food. As children bring their own packed lunches and snacks, this helps parents manage dietary requirements in a way that feels right for their child.
If your child attends Breakfast Club or After Club, we’re happy to accommodate dietary requirements where possible - please make sure these are noted when you book.
If your child has a serious allergy or requires medication such as an EpiPen, it’s essential that this is declared in advance when booking, with clear instructions provided. Medication must be handed directly to the Camp Manager at drop-off so it can be stored securely and handled appropriately.
If you have any questions or want to discuss specific needs before booking, please get in touch - we’re always happy to help.
-
Yes, toilet access is flexible and child-led.
Children are encouraged to use the toilet whenever they need to, rather than waiting for set times, and regular reminders are built naturally into the day (for example, during breaks or between activities).
Younger children are supported and supervised as appropriate, while older children are given more independence, in line with what’s suitable for their age and confidence.
If your child needs extra reminders or support around toileting, please let us know when you book so we can make the team aware.
Absences & same-day changes
-
If your child is unwell and unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible via the contact form.
We ask parents to use the same judgement they would on a school day - if your child is too unwell for school, they shouldn’t attend camp. This helps keep everyone safe and well.
That said, we are always flexible where we can be, and if your child is ill, we’re usually happy to swap their booking to another day, subject to availability.
If you’re unsure what to do, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.
-
If plans change, please let us know as soon as possible.
For non-urgent updates, you can contact us via the contact form. If something is time-sensitive or happening on the day, it’s best to call us on 03330 067413so we can let the team know straight away.
We’re a small, local organisation and do our best to be understanding and flexible where we can, while also managing camp safely and fairly for everyone.
